CSCC
The CSCC is an institution at the Jena University Hospital (JUH) to foster the research and treatment of sepsis and its sequelae. The objectives of the CSCC are to develop new approaches and tools for risk assessment, prevention, diagnosis and treatment of sepsis, in particular to analyze molecular mechanisms of organ failure, to improve the acute and intensive care of septic patients, to study long-term consequences of sepsis, to integrate rehabilitative therapies in the treatment of patients surviving sepsis, to study economic burden and ethical aspects of the disease.
According to the funding guidelines of the Federal Ministry
of Education and Research (BMBF) it develops attractive
career options for young
scientists and offers appropriate perspectives in
clinical and clinically oriented research with
particular emphasis on translational aspects. The structure of
the CSCC facilitates independent scientific
projects at an early stage of the scientific career and enables an open and wide-ranging scientific exchange. To
provide all MD and PhD students working in CSCC projects a common platform and
a structured supervision and training program the CSCC established its own
Research Training Group.
